The series will run March 31 through December 8, 2010. In addition to serving as a sponsor of the series, Buchanan professionals will serve as speakers at the May 13, July 22 and December 8 sessions.

Buchanan's K. Scott Baker, Sean Moran and Amy Pandit will team up with firm client, CONSOL Energy, Inc., to present at this seminar intended for leaders of companies actively involved in Marcellus Shale operations, including producers, operators, contractors, drillers, land owners, water treatment and transportation companies.

  From October 13-15, 2010, four Pittsburgh attorneys from Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Marcellus Shale/Oil and Gas Group will participate in the 35th Kentucky Mineral Law Conference, presented by the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation (EMLF) — a non-profit educational organization providing information on legal issues related to the energy and mineral industry through workshops, specialty programs, publications and electronic information. The three-day event will take place at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Conference first opened its doors in 2004, and since then it has grown to attract more than 5,000 attendees and truly impact lives. The 2010 Conference, with the theme "Your Time Is Now," will be held October 14, 2010, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.
  

• Buchanan Supports The Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation's "Development Issues in the Major Shale Plays"

  The Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation's special institute on "Development Issues in the Major Shale Plays" will take place December 6-7, 2010, at the Westin Convention Center Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This program will explore in depth the legal and technical challenges facing the oil and gas industry in the development of the major shale plays throughout the United States. An emphasis is placed on the challenges that the stakeholders face in the Marcellus Shale Play. The program also will review the technical and environmental issues confronting those seeking to develop the natural gas locked within the Marcellus Shale Formation. Special emphasis will be given to air quality, water quality, and water consumption issues that are unique to natural gas production from shales.
